No matter how hard I try, completely scrappy is more chaos than my brain can handle. I reworked my star medallion and the reds are now orderly and symmetrical.
The bottom portion has been sewn together, and I might finish the upper portion today.
Yay! The sense of relief I feel is quite gratifying. Laugh all you want. I love a bit of chaos in my life, but not in my quilts!
The star medallion changed several times from my first layout, which shouldn’t come as any surprise. I liked it just as well until I started adding to it, then it no longer pleased the eye.
If I add a one inch border around this as is, it will be the same size as the wall quilt over my desk I am replacing, since my mini lone star ended up a bit larger than planned. But… I’m not sure I am going to stop there yet. An appliqué border would add so much charm! But it will again be too big!
