Awesome fabric score!

Score! Today I visited my Bernina dealer in Conway, and I took along some of the fat quarters that I pulled from my stash last week that I needed a background fabric for.

The line is obviously several years old. I don’t recall buying them, and I can’t find any of it online anywhere. It’s Symphony by Moda. I have some yardage in my stash that works well with the line for borders and binding, but nothing I have looked right for background fabric.

Originally I was going to use these fabrics as my retreat project, but the line is fairly formal looking and needs a more complex design then I want to work on in a group setting, so I’m doing a Quilt of Valor instead.

But just look at this killer fabric I got from Shirley! On it’s own, it’s kind of ugly! But it’s absolutely stunning with the Symphony line from Moda.

Sweet Tea by Sweet Water for Moda. I’m so in love with this combo and I’m definitely excited to design a quilt around these fabrics.

I’m off to bake one more double batch of rolls for the retreat… that will make 98, we should be good!

  1. Like that as a neutral background. The other fabrics are so busy (& beautiful) that you need someplace restful.

    1. I agree, but it’s just such an unexpectedly cool fabric!

    1. Good idea! But I’ve probably got what I need now. I just need a design 🙂

  2. I think I have some Symphony fabric in my stash too!! Can’t wait to see wait you make out of it. I know it will be divine! Then I can copy you! 😊

    1. I am having a difficult time coming up with a pattern that I feel like works well with these fabrics Julia. Maybe if I had some yardage, but something will click one day while I’m playing around with it. Soon I hope!
