Birthday Brownies and Sewing

Happy Birthday Sindy! It’s a day early, but I baked my friend her favorite ultra dark brownies, flavored with cinnamon and espresso, and did a masked drive-by and drop off. My how life has changed this year!

I got a couple more quilt blocks made for the sampler quilt. I still have no earthly clue what I’m doing with these blocks. When I finish making all the blocks I can squeeze out of my first fat quarter bundle of Moda Cinnaberry, I’ll stop and assess. I have another fat quarter bundle and some yardage.

I cut out another doll dress this afternoon. It’s “En Fourreau Gown by Thimbles and Acorns.

It looked easy enough from the picture, but then I saw all the details on the pattern pleats and wondered if I’m in over my head again, I guess I’ll find out!

I’ve decided to use the solid red for the outer dress, and the print for the Petticoat, and a solid off white for the neckerchief. Probably needs to be reversed to be more historically accurate, but I didn’t spot any history police in my sewing room so I should be safe.
