CJ’s Wholegrain Sourdough Waffles

I have seriously died and gone to heaven. This is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, I swear I felt it resonate within my DNA. LOL

I have been working on many of my favorite recipes, changing them up to include more beneficial ingredients.

These nutritious, wholegrain waffles, topped with pure maple syrup, fresh raspberries and walnuts are simply to die for!

CJ’s Wholegrain Sourdough Waffles

113g spelt
113g soft white wheat
45g flax, ground
25g honey
454g buttermilk
227g sourdough starter
2 large eggs
50g walnut oil
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda

For the starter: In a medium bowl, mix together the flours.

Stir in the buttermilk, honey and starter. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit at room temperature overnight.

For the batter: Beat together the eggs, walnut oil, salt, and baking soda. Stir into the starter; it will immediately start to form bubbles. Cook in a Belgian waffle maker.

I enjoyed mine with a glass of Chardonnay for dinner!

  1. Check are the photos you had on Yahoo Groups anyplace else? I was looking for the old info on the Christmas quilt that was perhaps black and white machine applique. I thought had even found some errors in their directions maybe in the cutting for the blocks.
