Drawers and Dress Train

This morning I made the drawers for the suffrage outfit. The pattern for these is “Victorian Unmentionables” by Thimbles and Acorns.

I really want to make the chemise as well, but there’s just no way it’s going to look right under the blouse, even though it would be the correct attire.

The petticoat is next. I won’t be making the crinoline as dresses during this time were fairly straight, with wider bottoms, often ruffled.

I also wanted to share a couple pictures of the skirt from the back and the side. I don’t believe my photos yesterday showed that it has a slight train.

I went ahead and seamed the back. After sleeping on it, I decided the snaps were going to be too heavy and make the skirt drape funny in the back. I still have to hand stitch the center seam at the hem, so please excuse that.

Miss Myrtle has succumbed to the Corona virus, and is bedridden this week. When I checked on her this morning, she was feeling a bit better and requested cookies today.
