Embrace the Change!

It’s the fabric driving all the changes. I typically design something in Electric Quilt and while that process may undergo several changes, once I start cutting and piecing, I usually stick to my plan.

Not with this quilt, or it’s big sister! I’d planned to use all the fabric pieces left and make the sashings half-square triangles, but changed my mind at the last minute.

The above quilt is the one I’m making. The quilt below is what I thought I was making!

I have part of the top assembled and only lack appliquéing two more of the blocks.

I’m really pushing to get this finished so my mom’s bedroom finally comes together, and so I can plan a very last minute project for my quilt retreat which begins on September 8th! I need to pick up the pace!

I made whole grain pasta this morning and will make fresh pesto for dinner. I did another experimental bake, sun-dried tomato, greek olive, and parmesan rolls.

They’re really good, but something isn’t quite right, so they need some tweaking. I can’t quite wrap my tongue around what I want that isn’t there, so hopefully it will come to me.

  1. Oh my goodness, this is absolutely gorgeous!! Do you mind if I add this design to my list of want to make someday?

  2. I like the newer version. Those darker strips give more definition that the triangles. But what will you do with all those triangles? Yet another project.

    1. I know right? I typically cut my scraps into half square triangles anyway, although I prefer the 4 inch finished size to the 2 inch… but both work 🙂

Your feedback is always welcome! If you have a question, I will respond to it here.
