Finalized Plan for Leftover Blocks

Finalized Plan for Leftover Blocks

I woke up at the crack of crazy yet again this morning, finalized my idea for the leftover blocks from my mom’s quilt, which meant leaving out two of the appliqué blocks and piecing two more Ohio Star blocks.

But that’s two less blocks I still have to appliqué! I pieced the two star blocks this morning, and have them laid out on point. I have enough of the brown floral left from the first quilt, since I only put on a three-inch border instead of the eight-inch my mom thought she wanted, and the pink/peach corner triangles and small border is the fabric I bought to bind her quilt with, but it ended up too big and I didn’t have enough of it.

I will have to purchase the setting triangle fabric, plus a couple more yards for matching pillow cases.

My EQ drawing isn’t identical to my blocks, but it gives me the needed visual and measurements.

I’ll be at the Quilt House in Clarksville today, finishing up the binding on my mom’s quilt, so I baked sourdough blueberry cornmeal muffins to take along.

    1. Thank you Sandie, I’m more of a red girl myself, but my mom loves these colors.

  1. I knew you would come up with something g beautiful!! I love it!

    1. Thank you Julia! I think it changed just a little today… I decided I wasn’t going to piece all the little half square triangles for the sashing, so I bought some yardage for solid sashing. But it’s mostly the same!

  2. Very nice!!!!

    1. Thank you Sandra, now to motivate myself to finish appliquéing those blocks!

  3. Amazing how you can get leftovers lol But I need a special delivery of those muffins since I have to be at work and not at the Quilt House 🙂

    1. I wouldn’t have so many leftover if I could count! :). Why don’t you do the Quilt House on Saturdays? It’s great fun, much more enjoyable than sewing at Hobby Lobby.

Your feedback is always welcome! If you have a question, I will respond to it here.
