One of the participators in the Moda Blockheads Facebook group shared a drawing she’d made of an alternate pieced block to the appliqué bird house blocks. It was so cute I drew it up in EQ8.
How cute is that? I much prefer it to the appliqué version. I went and ahead and plonked it down in my quilt layout for now, along with the L-O-V-E block, as possibilities for later, but I’m to ready to commit to either right now.
I have yet to piece a block for this week.
Jim’s been bitten by the vintage machine bug again along with me. I found another (at least, as far as I can tell from online photos) another exquisite vintage Singer 400 series machine. It’s a 403a, very similar to my 401a, just without the built in cam stack. I’ll post photos when it arrives… yep, I bought it.
Jim pulled his gorgeous 301a out of the closet and has been playing with it a bit. She really is a beauty!
Tomorrow I have orientation in the morning for a training session on competitive walking a friend and I signed up for, then a group bicycle ride after lunch. Little by little, I’m losing that 15lbs I put back on last year.

I really like the block. Especially the cardinal.
It is really cute.
Love the birdhouse block -so cute! Would make a cute potholder.
That it would!
