I Finished the Appliqué

I worked on the last of the appliqué a bit at a time yesterday. Jim pulled out mid afternoon on Friday for his contract job in Georgia.

It occurred to me, since he’ll be gone for about a year, why not pack up his desk top and put my embroidery machine there? Of course, I also lugged my vintage Singer cabinet and put my serger on top of it into his office as well… along with a bit of “me” stuff.

That freed up the table between my two sewing machines for a cutting mat, so I don’t have to walk to the other room so often. Boy is it going to be hard to have to put it all back when he comes home!

My mom wondered if Jim would be upset that I took over his office. I told her I didn’t see why he would, after all he’s using my space in the camper while he’s gone… I’m not using it!

I also set my Accuquilt up in a corner of his office you can’t see, as I typically have to use it on the floor and put it away when I’m done. This year, I hope to do do some sorting and downsizing while Jim is away. If we were to have to move, it would be a Herculean effort to pack us as is.

    Smart move! And I’m all for sorting and downsizing. I feel so refreshed after I’ve tackled some area and cleared out things. Hope you’ll enjoy your new layout!

      I wish I didn’t feel like I “need” so much of it. But I know there’s tons of stuff I don’t use, and it can definitely go.
