Miss Myrtle Caved!

I can’t believe it! I didn’t think she was ever going to get over her snit about me tucking away the vintage Singer machines for a bit, and pulling out the Bernina’s instead.

But she caved while secretly watching me from across the room as I topstitched a new dress, the needle stopping down precisely where I wanted it and the presser foot magically lifting with a touch of my knee. She skipped over to sneak a closer look.

And finally, albeit a bit begrudgingly, she pronounced the Bernina nearly as good as her much loved Singer 401a.

Would you look at that? She even let me take her picture in front of a Bernina!

Caroline came out to try on the dress, but was a little shy about posing without her petticoat. It’s not finished yet.

She was excited to show off the back of her dress. It’s the most grownup and fancy dress she’s ever had. It even has a bustle!

And yes, in case you’re wondering if I’ve lost my marbles, the answer is ABSOLUTELY!
