Perfect Day!

I know I’m weird, and my idea of the perfect day rarely resembles the average person’s ideal. Five o’clock in the morning found me in the kitchen mixing up a batch of red peppers and tomatoes to oven roast. I absolutely adore these, and always have a batch in the fridge.

While the peppers were roasting, I cooked up a package of bacon, something else I like to keep in the fridge. It smelled absolutely amazing!

I fed my sourdough as well, so I could make dough later on in the day. I typically cook bacon in the oven on cookie sheets, but decided to try it in the NuWave oven, and was quite pleased with the results. It cooked on a rack, so all the bacon fat dripped off. I always cook Cosmo’s chicken in the NuWave, and it crisps up so beautifully, so I figured the bacon was worth a try as well.

Eight o’clock found me at the lake taking my walk, as it warmed up early. I was dismayed to see how much the lily pads are taking over this area as seen in the first two pictures.

Since starting on blood pressure medicine, I find I am more tired all the time, so after my walk and a quick run to the grocery store, I headed home and spent an hour in the recliner before I summoned some energy again. The next couple of hours I spent power washing the gutters on the house and the back stoop, as well as the window screens.

Here are some of my currently blooming irises. I’ll be adopting some new red and yellow ones this week!

I’ve been awake since before 2am this morning, so I probably won’t get my walk in or much of anything done today, other than to bake the dough I made yesterday. Rain for the next two days so I really should, but oh well!

All in all, a lovely day I thoroughly enjoyed. I discovered several apps that let me download audiobooks (free) via my local library system, and I’ve been enjoying “reading” while I take my walks. Although I’m not sure how much of the story I retain, I find myself easily distracted when have a book read to me, versus reading it myself.

Our days usually start about 5 also but, I can assure you I didn’t get as much done as you did. I keep thinking if I can just get my back adjusted back into place I could do alllllllllll the things. LOL!!! Probably wouldn’t happen even if I had no aches or pains. Love looking at your iris’s. I only have 3-4 different ones, love the variety of yours. If you ever run out of things to do my house needs to be pressure washed 🙂

Funny lady! I only pressure wash bits at a time. I find it quite exhausting. We have a larger semi commercial power washer that is just too much for me to handle so I bought myself a small electric one.

Your Irises are beautiful! The lake where you walk is likewise beautiful and very peaceful. You have always amazed me with the amount of work you get done one day. I think you are the original Wonder Woman😊

Arkansas is a beautiful state, and things grow so well here. I doubt I do any more than anyone else 🙂

How are you doing? Haven’t seen anything from you recently. Any trouble with weather in your area? Peace.

I’m good Diane, thank you for asking. I haven’t been doing much that’s interesting to write about.

Your feedback is always welcome! If you have a question, I will respond to it here.
