I wasn’t able to sleep last night, so I sewed through the night and finished my star points. Despite all the “help” from Siri cat!
I can’t go any further until my background fabric arrives. Hopefully it’s not going to be one of those packages that ends up on the scenic route around some other country before arriving on my doorstep, as is so common lately!
I have a pretty good visual of the open space between the star and the border I mis-sized, and I think these appliqués I cut will work nicely.
If after assembly they look too big, I can skip the piece closest to the star as they’re separate. This is an AccuQuilt die, “Arabesque” by Ricky Tims. I’m not overly excited about doing all that appliqué, but I’ll get over it. It looks right. 🙂

I think your miscalculation was a blessing in disguise. I really think the red color and the applique shape add a lot!! Love it! Hope you grab a nap today!
Hmmm, maybe. The border blocks are larger than I wanted and I think the scale looks a little off, but I do like the look of the appliqué, thank you Kim.
I like the appliqué in the corners but I would twist the star just a bit so there would be a “square” in the corner. I always love your colors.
It will be that way naturally once it’s set in the background fabric, no worries! I don’t know if I’ll ever get over my red and cream addiction 🙂
The applique looks great.
Thank you Laura. It seemed like a good fit on this little quilt.
Accuquilt has embroidery files for their applique dies. They work great
I don’t think there’s one for the Ricky Tims dies, but I will certainly go double check!
Love the look with the appliqué. Good luck with your order! My husband’s Christmas gift arrived TODAY after ordering early December. I watched it on Amazon ping pong back and forth between Redding, CA and Las Vegas for over a week, then didn’t know where it was until a week ago and it was back in Vegas!!! Yesterday was his birthday and I told him it was a combo Christmas/birthday gift!! I think the Grinch has taken over our mail system!!! Happy New Year!!
Thank you Gwynette. Wow, that’s one late shipment, sorry about that! Happy New Year!
