The Quilt Police Are Coming!

Heaven help me, I should have never taught Miss Myrtle to speak English (did you know she was born in Bulgaria?). I’m quite tired and cranky today, and I’m tossing around the idea of sewing a mouse muzzle. Are mouse muzzles a thing?

Being the rebellious soul that I am, I have a most satisfying cheat for snowball blocks, and Miss Myrtle caught me in the act.

I cut my background fabric the size of the finished snowball, and lightly crease it so I have some guidelines, then I slap my half-square triangles (thank you, Accuquilt) on each corner, sew, trim, and repeat my way around the square.

That has worked just fine for me for many years now, so if the quilt police answer Miss Myrtles call for help and arrive at my door, well I guess I’ll simply have to feed them some Stöllen or something and distract them!

I sewed enough of the alternate blocks up this morning to see how it looks, and I think this will be just fine.

Someday, I might even finish it.

You’ve made me laugh! Tell Miss Myrtle to stuff a sock in it and you keep on being creative. Merry Christmas!!

I think it might be better for all concerned if I simply put a sock over her head. Maybe tie it around her feet with a red bow and hang her upside down on the Christmas tree.

      Merry Christmas!
