Wall Quilt Idea Brewing

My mom has this huge wall behind her loveseat we’ve yet to put anything on. She and I decorated her living room in yellow and gray basically. I don’t know if she would actually like a quilt on the wall, but when we visited Hancock’s of Paducah a couple of week ago, I saw the 3 Sisters Memoirs fabric by Moda, and it sparked my creative streak… something which hasn’t been very active lately.

These are the four fabrics from the line I used in my design. They’re really gorgeous, I adore 3 Sisters fabrics, and if I want to do this, I’d better hurry because they’re never available for very long.

The quilt is 100″ x 100″… which is awfully darn big for a wall quilt. I was thinking large blocks, because otherwise I might not be ambitious enough to make it happen, and also, I’d probably need to custom quilt it if we slapped it on the wall. Bleh. We all know how must I detest custom quilting! Doing it that is… I love seeing it. 🙂

I think I’ll go over to mom’s and snap a picture of the loveseat with the wall behind it and look it at for bit. Of course I’ll have to ask my mom if she would like it, but now we’ve added commitment to my lack of ambition. EGADS!

Maybe I should just go back to bed!

  1. That’s one gorgeous quilt! I can’t believe she won’t love it. 100 x 100 *is* huge. Could you scale it down and be happy?

    1. I just got home. She didn’t like it. Perhaps I’ll recolor it for me and make it anyway 🙂

  2. I love it … love your ability to envision and create .. my mojo has gone with out the window lately, trying to recapture myself

    1. Thanks Dee, sounds like we are in the same boat! No mojo here either. It’s like a delinquent child that’s run off.

Your feedback is always welcome! If you have a question, I will respond to it here.
