Popcorn and cobbler

That’s what Jim and I had for dinner last night, popcorn and cobbler, and boy did it hit the spot!  We had a wonderful day yesterday.  It stayed cloudy, but warm.  Instead of doing weekend chores,  we took the Bromptons for a leisurely bike ride.  Jim made a few adjustments to my seat and handlebars as suggested by Todd at Clever Cycles (thank you Todd!) and it was a much more comfortable ride.

We came home and grabbed lunch, then loaded Cosmo up and headed up to the land, where we took a long walk and then took the Gator out for a spin… Cosmo loved that!  Jim was craving a milkshake after all that fresh air so we stopped at Sonic, and neither of us wanted much dinner afterwards.  Popcorn sure tasted good!  Are we alone in still loving this old-fashioned treat?  I buy a fifty pound bag of it every few years, yep we eat that much of it.  Drenched in butter and some salt… bliss.

On Friday, I wrapped up the “All Boxed In” baby quilt.  I just need to hand stitch the binding down on the back.  I’ll be duplicating this quilt for twin girls, but the second one will have a different color binding.  The EQ7 project file has been added to my free download section.

It’s raining today, so I don’t know what we have planned.  We didn’t get any work at all done this weekend, Friday we did another “drive by” of a house for sale but didn’t like the surrounding area at all.  It’s looking more and more like we’ll end up building, but I will keep looking right up until our dozer guy is available again.

  1. we do not eat as much popcorn as we used to but we still have it now and then – I make it the old fashioned way on the stove top – we don’t put butter on it though or if we do just a tiny bit just salted. Your quilt turned out cute. I only lasted a short while – only an hour at quilting yesterday morning – I cant stand being caged in with no windows – I never last long at that group – I think because there are no windows!! you were wise to skip it! it was too nice of a day to sit inside and sew – glad I went home and got busy outside – that always makes me feel good
