I headed out for my walk around eight this morning, ran across a huge turtle on the road, stopped to take a picture, and he was still crossing the road thirty minutes later on my second loop!
After my walk I changed shoes and started weed whacking. Jim mowed the back yard with the push mower, it’s too wet for the rider and the front yard is a swamp!
We have a nice pin oak in our back yard that has big gnarly roots on top of the ground, so I cut up a bunch of cardboard this morning, then spread three bales worth of old straw a friend had given us over the cardboard.
I’ll probably plant something in that straw. It’s only about six inches deep so I’ll have to think about it. I did plant a small batch of green beans this morning, and set a reminder with Alexa for two weeks to plant some more.
My purple irises over in the blueberry beds are blooming away! I dug up quite a few earlier this week and took them over to my mom for her gardens.
I didn’t get a lot of sewing done… and I did not finish the face masks. I’ll work on them more tonight. Right now, I’m in need of some relaxation. It’s beautiful outside, and our back yard is mowed and makes me happy!
