A Thing of Beauty!

Look at that shine! A lot of cleaning, buffing and maybe some petting too, but oh my!

So this is the first 404 Jim and I picked up over in Clarksville. If you saw some of my pictures yesterday, it was pretty grungy, but this one is just stunning now!

It has the top cover from the machine in my sewing room as there is a very small crack right above the take up lever, you can see it in the photos, which is too bad because this top cover is much shinier than the other one. I still plan to work on that one more to see if I can bring out this much shine in it.

It’s possible this one may replace the 404 I am currently using, but it will have to be pretty spectacular as the other one and I have bonded :). It sews so beautifully, and sounds incredible. I really enjoy that machine!

Jim has assured me he can repair it so that it’s undetectable, and of course it is strictly cosmetic. But still…

The inside still needs restoration. I’ve no idea how it sounds or sews yet. I just want to pet it.
