Doll Sleeve Placket… Success!

Not perfect, but having never made a sleeve placket in my life, and a tiny one to boot, I’m happy!

I again chose to hand stitch it, using Superior Threads 100wt silk thread. Miss Myrtle is overseeing the project.

Next up was the waistband, and so far the bodice seems to be fitting okay. The lining comes next, and that’s where it usually all falls apart for me!

Tomorrow the week seven block for Moda Blockheads comes out, I can’t wait to see what it is! I will make it immediately, but then if I get enough sleep I really need to get back to the quilt on my longarm. If I put it off much longer, I’ll forget what I was doing and what a mess that will be.

It’s going to be a beautiful day, so I will be doing a bicycle ride and a walk after with some friends this afternoon. I have a loaf of sourdough bread nearly ready for the oven this morning, and then I need a quick trip to Hobby Lobby to see what trims might work on the doll dress neckline.

I sewed clothing, gowns, carriers, etc. for my granddaughter’s American Girl doll and I was happy to get back to quilting!! 😬🤣

I will probably never again be into quilting as much as I was in the past, one or two a year maybe now, but I enjoy sewing as much as ever.
